Research Interests

I work with Professor Hugh Dickinson’s group in the Department. Using a range of novel cell culture techniques applied to the male cell lineage (pollen) of Arabidopsis thaliana, research is focussed on the way small RNA, histone modification and methylation pathways establish the chromatin landscape of  reproductive cells, and the effect that disruption of this landscape has on the outcome of meiosis and gametophytic cell specification. This work is in collaboration with Dan Zilberman (UC, Berkeley, USA), Xiaoqi Feng (John Innes Institute, UK) and Lucia Colombo (Milan, Italy).
