I am a postdoctoral research fellow specialising in molecular virology, vaccine development, and immunogenicity. My research focuses on designing plant-based virus-like particle (VLP) vaccines, emphasising recombinant antigen design, precise epitope mapping, and preclinical immunogenicity assessments.
My current project targets the development of a pan-coronavirus vaccine by identifying and incorporating epitopes of limited variability within the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. I utilise structural bioinformatics to systematically partition spike protein domains, revealing conserved epitopes suitable for broad-spectrum vaccine efficacy. My ultimate aim is to deliver vaccine platforms that provide durable immunity against emerging coronavirus variants and related viruses, significantly reducing vulnerability to future outbreaks.
