Research Interests

My pronouns are he/him

I am interested in the eco-evolutionary dynamics of fungal pathogens. The main question of my research is how changing environments give rise to novel traits, including novel emerging pathogens and antifungal resistance. My work falls within the One Health framework linking environmental adaptation to human health.

My current projects are to assess the impact of climate change on the evolution of antifungal resistance and pathogenicity within Aspergillus species. Also, I'm involved in projects relating to the emergence of the novel pathogen Candidozyma (Candida) auris, as well as Trichophyton species. I also work on dual-use antifungals and the impact of exposure of fungicides to the development of new clinical antifungals. Lastly, I'm interested in novel antifungal development platforms to find compounds that have broad antifungal effects.
