Research Interests

I specialise in evolutionary behavioural ecology, demography, and life-history theory, with a primary focus on empirical research in both human and non-human populations. My work uses phylogenetic comparative approaches to investigate the evolution of sex roles and their ecological and evolutionary drivers. I also examine how sex roles shape disease dynamics in wild populations, integrating metagenomic methods to characterise host–microbe interactions and infection risk. Alongside this, I contribute to the conservation biology of endangered species, linking evolutionary insights to applied biodiversity management. Overall, my research spans behavioural and demographic processes through to their broader implications for health, adaptation, and conservation.
