My pronouns are he/him

I am interested in the molecular mechanisms triggering plant responses to hypoxia (flooding) conditions. Using synthetic biology, I transported the most important plant oxygen sensing pathway into baker's yeast, where I can study it in high detail and free from the dense regulation occurring in the original host. In our goal to improve crop tolerance to floods and on top of our synthetic strategy, we are engaging in new biocomputational methods to learn how to tweak and improve plant responses to low oxygen.
