My pronouns are he/him

I am a plant molecular biologist coming to Oxford from Canada, where I received my PhD from Wilfrid Laurier University (Waterloo, ON) investigating the mechanisms that govern the targeting and assembly of the translocation machinery (or TOC complex) in the outer envelope membrane of chloroplasts in plant cells.

In the Jarvis group, I am continuing this research through a project aimed at unravelling the assembly and regulation of the TOC and TIC translocons, which form a critical gateway for chloroplast biogenesis and function. By combining biochemical, genetic, and structural approaches, my work seeks to uncover how these molecular machines are built and controlled during plant development. Ultimately, these insights could help drive innovations in agriculture, enabling the engineering of crops with enhanced photosynthetic efficiency and stress tolerance.
