I am an evolutionary biologist with an interest in understanding how natural and anthropogenic conditions mediate gene flow, genetic diversity and adaptation in animal populations. My PhD focuses on wetland fish, exploring how population genomics interacts with a spatial and temporal landscape of anthropogenic hydrological structures (e.g., dams, weirs) and environmental conditions (e.g., flooding, drought). This work fits into an inter-institutional framework of wetland research called the EcoWild CDT, and will inform management decisions and river restoration efforts to better safeguard our natural resources, heritage and biodiversity.
