I am an MBiol student using computer simulations to study the evolution of viruses, both within and between hosts.
My thesis project focusses on HIV and the ways it adapts to different host immune systems. By understanding these processes, I aim to improve our estimates of how fast HIV evolves, making it easier to predict and understand its spread. I have also worked on SARS-CoV-2, exploring how often it recombines during acute infections and developing methods to estimate the recombination rate.
