Research Interests

My pronouns are he/him

I am a large carnivore biologist and conservation technologist. Previously, I completed an MBiol at the University of Durham and a PhD in Environmental Intelligence at the University of Exeter. Latterly, my work focused on the novel integration of passive acoustic monitoring alongside camera traps for lion and leopard research.

As a part of WildCRU, I will be working in an interdisciplinary team that continues my previous work of innovating software and hardware and using multimodal survey designs, to research whether large carnivore monitoring can be made more cost and time efficient. This work will combine computer science, fieldwork in KAZA (Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area), and capacity building to help guide conservation management and improve technological knowledge in this region.

The Technological Innovation for Large Carnivore Monitoring program is kindly supported by the Notsew Orm Sands foundation.
