I am a Research Assistant in the Preston lab. My research aims to understand the temperature dependence of Xanthomonas pathogenicity in the bacterial spot disease of pepper/tomato to inform the engineering of climate-resilient disease resistance. Given that pathogens must overcome both endogenous ROS during epiphytic colonisation and exogenous ROS during apoplast colonisation, I am researching the temperature sensitivity of Xanthomonas ROS tolerance.
