My interdisciplinary research seeks to analyse the different understandings of nature among public and private actors involved in environmental conservation. My activities, grounded on political ecology, focus on the critical debate on the implementation and effectiveness of protected areas for sustainable use, with a special interest in the incorporation of traditional knowledge into public management policies and governance.
