As a keen fly fisherman, exploring rivers, lakes and oceans has been my favourite pastime for as long as I can remember. It is through this hobby that I developed an appreciation for the natural world, as well as a desire to conserve it.
In the master’s component of my MBiol at the University of Oxford, I chose to focus on the sustainability of salmon aquaculture from a life cycle perspective, as part of the HESTIA team. After graduating, I spent a year as a research assistant for HESTIA, developing emission models for the most commonly used livestock feed ingredients.
Now, I am very happy to be continuing my passion for sustainable aquaculture research as a DPhil candidate. The core component of my doctoral work is to assess the relative sustainability of the top-produced aquaculture species globally using the HESTIA platform.
