My pronouns are he/him
I am passionate about understanding how ecological processes interact with human development and finding ways to make these relationships sustainable. My academic background in marine, freshwater, Antarctic biology, and coastal environmental planning and my experience in research and global-scale projects have shaped my commitment to integrating conservation with real-world development needs. From fisheries management in Australia to leading strategic environmental planning for the massive NEOM project in Saudi Arabia, I have ensured that human activities can enhance, rather than harm, the natural world.
As a Research Student, I am focused on exploring ecological theories that can support ecological restoration and nature-positive development planning. Specifically, my research aims to investigate the role of biodiversity in sustainability and explore how Biodiversity-Ecosystem Function Theory can be scaled to landscape-level applications. By tackling these challenges, I aim to develop practical and impactful solutions that help resolve the tensions between conservation and development in a changing world.
