Research Interests

My pronouns are he/him

I am interested in cellular biology, microbiology, and wildlife health, with a particular focus on the gut microbiome of wild animals. Originally from South Africa, my academic background spans biochemistry, genetics, neuroscience, and physiology. During my MSc, I investigated the gut microbiome of lions, which developed my interest in understanding the gut microbiome.

I am particularly interested in exploring how the gut microbiome and cellular processes respond to environmental, physiological, and ecological pressures in wildlife. Through this research, I hope to contribute to a better understanding of wildlife health and biology, with potential applications in conservation, disease ecology, and the management of wild animal populations.
