I am a DPhil student working on a project in collaboration between Oxford University and the APHA. My work concerns the prevalence of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Pasteurella multocida which is a globally distributed pathogen that infects mammals and birds, causing a variety of diseases.

My project employs comparative genomic techniques, such as phylogenetic reconstruction and genome-wide association studies, to improve genotypic predictions and gain a better understanding of evolving AMR mechanisms and the niche adaptability of Pasteurella multocida. This understanding is critical for enhancing the efficacy of AMR control measures and establishing effective methods to reduce the impact of this pathogen on public and animal health.
