I am fascinated by how wild populations keep pace with changing environments, and how genetic variation and phenotypic plasticity help - or limit - their ability to adapt. My interests span evolutionary genomics and population genetics, with a particular focus on how reproduction and dispersal shape the variation available to natural selection.
My DPhil research uses the winter moth to explore how reproductive structure, sex chromosomes, and sex-specific gene flow influence the evolution of seasonal timing. By combining genomic data with phenology, I aim to understand how populations maintain synchrony with their host trees in a changing climate.
