My research interests focus on the link between cell biology, plant development and physiology. My focus has been on mitochondrial dynamics, particularly how movement within cells controls genome exchange, and ultimately inheritance.
In the Synoxys group, my focus is to develop new imaging techniques and investigate the connection between mitochondrial respiration, dynamics and plant development. Ultimately, control of cytoplasmic genomes, growth and development will allow us to access favourable bioenergetic traits for crop species.
