I am a computational biologist working alongside experimentalists to investigate the permeability of different membrane types to amino acids and sugars of different stereochemistry. My contribution to this work is in carrying out molecular dynamics based simulations to provide additional insight into the mechanisms of passive permeation, or its absence, observed experimentally, and to provide predictions to inform further experiments.
