I am a passionate biologist and ethologist vocationally dedicated to felids conservation. My experience working with wildlife led me through different roles - from wildlife rescue and rehabilitation and the study of jaguars and pumas in Costa Rica, to lion conservation and human-wildlife conflict mitigation in Botswana. I am currently a DPhil student at WildCRU, studying lion ecology in the eastern panhandle of the Okavango Delta, Botswana. The ecological knowledge of lion populations in this heavily human-impacted ecosystem area, understanding which factors influence lion demographics and survival, and potentially identifying natural wildlife corridors, could help create effective strategies to favour the species conservation, ensuring continued dispersal ability and connectivity with other lion strongholds through the region and across the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA-TFCA).
