This year a record 101 nominations were submitted across seven award categories, demonstrating the growing popularity and recognition of apprenticeships across the University.

We are proud to take part in the apprenticeship scheme which offers a fantastic opportunity for young people and current members of staff to earn while they learn in a world-leading research and academic institution.

Congratulations to our Finance Officer, Tamara Feltrin who won the Apprentice Manager Award. This category celebrates mentors and line managers who have shown outstanding support over the last year. Her apprentice, Joe Foy, was also commended.

Finance Manager James Sturgess said of the award

“Tamara beat off stiff competition to win this award. No-one deserves this recognition more than Tamara. She has gone above and beyond to ensure the success of our apprenticeship experience and has had to deal with major challenges along the way. An amazing achievement."
