Striking a suitable balance between the food needs of the continuously growing world population and global agricultural production is a pressing contemporary challenge and long-term goal. Notably, pests are one of the major constraints on agricultural development, with direct yield losses accounting for 20-40% of global agricultural productivity. I am interested in how global climate change impacts pests, both directly (temperature, humidity, precipitation, etc.) and indirectly (host crops, landscape structure, etc.). The goal of my study is to integrate demographic processes and physiological traits into species distribution model (SDM), in combination with geographic big data, to achieve pest spatial distribution and population dynamics simulation.
