Research Interests

I am a forest scientist. I am a Fulford Junior Research Fellow at Somerville College and a Lecturer in Biology at Magdalen College & St Hilda’s College. My research mainly concerns the adaptation and genomics of trees in both tropical and temperate forests for their conservation and sustainable management. I currently co-chair the Ecological Genetics Group and serve in the Events Committee of the British Ecological Society (BES). I become a National Geographic Explorer in 2022 for my research on critically endangered rosewood trees. My recent research on rosewoods is featured in the University News: https://www.ox.ac.uk/news/features/race-save-world-s-most-trafficked-wild-species.
