Research Interests

My pronouns are he/him

My research interests broadly cover biodiversity and social-ecological monitoring, exploring the relationships between people and nature, and nature conservation and recovery. I am looking to research the sociological and ecological benefits that can be derived by local communities living within the periphery of national parks in the global north and global south for my DPhil. The goal of this research is to determine how the intent and implementation of protected areas varies between these global zones, and if the presence of national parks can deliver for both people and nature. Further to this, I hope to explore if the local knowledge of people living around national parks can be harnessed to provide more holistic ecological and social monitoring frameworks.
