Lucy Martin

Research Interests

My research involves combining state-of-the-art manipulation of big data such as satellite imagery with innovative field work design to provide metrics that can be useful for conservation, policy planning and blue carbon initiatives. I draw not only on my academic training but also my experience of organising and conducting field research as well as working within government in marine resource and data management. My expertise’s lie in temperate and tropical benthic ecology and marine geospatial data analysis. My goal is to use the latest technologies to protect the marine environment through informing sustainable development and championing effective ocean stewardship.
