Professor Lee Sweetlove

Research Interests

My research group focuses on understanding fluxes in plant metabolic networks in order to unlock ways of engineering crops with enhanced metabolic efficiency for increased yield. The main approach used is computational modelling of metabolism. A current major project aims to improve the yield of Cassava for smallholder farmers in sub-Saharan Africa as part of the Cassava Source-Sink consortium funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Agricultural Innovations.
