I am a DPhil student interested in how to influence public perceptions and engagement with biodiversity and conservation. As a research assistant, I have been involved in conservation marketing projects (specifically, how portrayals of species or environmental messages may influence public behaviour). For my DPhil research, I am using a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods to explore the impact of digital media types (such as video games and documentaries) on audiences’ perceived connection to nature, as well as their support for conservation efforts. My project is funded by EPSRC, and supervised by Dr. Diogo Veríssimo and Dr. Paul Johnson.
