As an ecologist, I’m interested in understanding the processes that shape the behaviours, structure, and functioning of animal communities, particularly insects. My DPhil research focuses specifically on the impacts of land use and climate change on pollinators and how these impacts can be mitigated. Currently, I am working on: (1) a data synthesis to examine how pollinators respond to local- and landscape-scale land-use changes; (2) a systematic review of the literature to identify research trends and gaps on the restoration of plant-pollinator assemblages and pollination functions; and (3) a field study investigating how butterfly banks affect the fine-scale movements and thermoregulatory abilities of British butterflies in restored calcareous grasslands.
