Research Interests

My research project aims to contribute to the control of plant diseases by generating new information that can facilitate the development of novel disease control strategies through a deeper understanding of the role of RNA binding proteins (RBPs) and cognate RNA in plant immunity and disease susceptibility. Specifically, it aims to elucidate the function of a certain RNA-binding metabolic enzyme in its role during plant immune responses. The future perspective of the project is to characterize the ortholog in rice (monocot) and tomato (dicot) as model species to improve host plant resistance of economically important crops that may increase agricultural crop production.
