The aim of my DPhil is to assess means of mitigating the impacts of climate change on the endangered African wild dog (Lycaon pictus). My research will explore both local and range-wide intervention options, for example examining the potential role of reintroductions to former range as well as local management tools in current range. I will be working with behavioural, spatial, and demographic data, using both field-based and computational methods to inform conservation strategy for the species.

I started my DPhil in 2021, supported by the NERC DTP in Environmental Research. I am co-supervised by researchers at the Institute of Zoology, ZSL, and am also collaborating with NGOs and reserve wildlife management in South Africa, where I will undertake fieldwork.
