Following a PhD in Biomedical Sciences and Genetics, I spent some time working as a senior scientist in healthcare institutes which focused on detecting and identifying variants of SARS-CoV-2 virus (COVID-19). My current research project is on human influenza viruses. I will be conducting pre-clinical studies to validate a novel pipeline for developing a universal influenza vaccine arising out of a mathematical model of the evolutionary dynamics of influenza. I will be using immunological techniques as well as structural bioinformatic methodologies.
