Research Interests

As part of the C4 rice project, I am interested in describing the developmental pathway of leaf vein patterning in C3 and C4 plants.

I am employing systems biology and targeted-interaction approaches to supplement our understanding of the molecular players involved in leaf vein development. Ultimately, I hope to contribute towards synthesizing the molecular machinery for building C4 rice. Most of my previous work and interest involve network inference from genome, transcriptome and chromatin changes in the course of plant stress responses.

I am interested to identify evolutionary adaptive traits that help crops, in particular rice, withstand environmental stress.
