Dr Luis Javier Galindo González

Research Interests

My broad research aim is to study is the molecular and morphological evolution of unicellular eukaryotes across the tree of life. At present I am working with phylogenomics and genomic evolution of zoosporic fungi from both the Blastocladiomycota and Sanchytriomycota phyla. Within the lab I am developing a Marie Curie EF-IF fellowship called FungEye, on the morphological, proteomic and evolutionary characterization of a novel light-sensing organelle first described on the fungus Blastocladiella emersonii.
