I am interested in how genes give rise to the diversity of life observed today with a particular emphasis on marine organisms. I am currently working on my DPhil project relating to new genes for new biology in animal evolution and hope that this will contribute to our understanding of the diversity of life and how this arose. I am passionate about scientific outreach and regularly engage with efforts to widen participation within science and higher education in general.
