My pronouns are she/her

My broad interests lie in understanding the mechanisms by which organisms respond to variations in their environment and using this knowledge to predict the population and fitness impacts of climate change.

During my DPhil, I aim to establish how individuals co-optimise different life-history traits in response to environmental change using an avian system to:

  1. Explore the trade-offs between optimal life-history decisions under different environmental contexts, using a theoretical approach of agent-based models parameterised with the long-term Wytham Tits dataset.
  2. Assess plumage structural quality as a potential mediator of trade-offs between avian life-history decisions by establishing the drivers and consequences of variation in this periodically fixed trait, using field experiments and thermography recordings of tits, mute swans and zebra finches.
