I have spent the majority of my academic career focused on studying North American owls. My current project explores Northern Spotted Owl conservation by comparing management plans, analysing stress hormones from wild owls across their range in relation to proximity to urban areas, and tracking changes in public perception. I am specifically interested in how these three areas have changed in the last forty years since they were listed as imperilled and what that means for the continued decline of the species.
