I joined the University of Oxford as a Research Assistant since October 2023. I am specialising in molecular microbiology and antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and have over five years of research experience spanning microbiology, molecular biology, genomics and microbial diversity.
At Oxford, I contribute to BALANCE, a large‑scale project investigating AMR mechanisms in patients with bloodstream infections across 17 hospitals in seven low‑, lower-middle-, upper-middle- and high‑income countries. While my work covers a broad range of pathogens, I focus primarily on ESKAPE bacteria and Candida species.
Before joining Oxford, I worked on the genetic diversity of Mycobacterium species to better understand the evolution and spread of resistant strains.
Alongside my research, I have taught microbiology and immunology practical classes to medical and biology students at the University of Oxford for one and a half years. I received excellent student feedback and was invited to speak to new demonstrators about effective teaching practices, reflecting my strong commitment to education and mentorship.
I am an enthusiastic and creative scientist who enjoys experimental design, troubleshooting, and data analysis, and I am committed to addressing global challenges in infectious diseases.
