I am passionate about uncovering the immune mechanisms that drive protection following vaccination.
For my MBiol project, I am investigating the humoral response to BCG vaccination, focusing on antibody-dependent complement deposition. BCG is currently the only licensed vaccine against tuberculosis - the world’s leading infectious cause of death - yet its efficacy is limited. By exploring the mechanisms underlying BCG-induced protection and identifying humoral correlates of immunity, my research aims to inform the rational design of next-generation TB vaccines.
