I am an MBiol student fascinated by tropical forest ecology and the feedbacks between trees and lianas. My research investigates how tree- and forest-scale architecture influence liana colonisation, persistence, and canopy structural change on Barro Colorado Island, Panama. By integrating high-resolution terrestrial LiDAR with long-term infestation records, I aim to quantify how crown morphology and stand structure predict infestation dynamics. I will conduct targeted field observations of liana climbing strategies to link 3D structural metrics with ecological processes, revealing how these interactions may accelerate liana expansion under climate change.
