We present a genome assembly from an individual Cantharis lateralis (solider beetle; Arthropoda; Insecta; Coleoptera; Cantharidae). The genome sequence spans 332.20 megabases. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 7 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 18.43 kilobases in length. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 14,426 protein-coding genes.
