Our group broadly addresses questions about the evolutionary ecology of natural systems. We work at multiple levels from studying macroevolutionary patterns such as the island syndrome, biogeography and molecular ecology of single species, the consequences of species interactions such as host-parasite relationships, and how combinations of microevolutionary processes drive divergence and incipient speciation. Approaches include field ecology, genomics, modelling and comparative approaches with birds being the main study taxon, but students also work on a range of other taxa.
