Development, Genomes, & Evolution

About the group

Our research aims to understand how modifications to developmental, genomic and cellular properties have shaped the diversity of life on earth. We use a range of approaches from genomics and bioinformatics, to mathematical modelling, to cellular and molecular analysis of development and regeneration. We study a variety of experimental systems – including cichlid fish, lampreys, insects, planarians, crustaceans and ascidians – chosen to investigate the essential interplay between evolution, genomes and development.
