Research Interests

I am interested in how humans interact with our world’s tropical forests, on scales operating from local stakeholders to governmental organisations, and how this interaction can be socio-economically sustainable.

My interests are particularly focussed in SE Asia at this time, however these interests are globally applicable. I am also interested in the use of novel remote-sensing technologies, particularly relating to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in tropical forest landscapes, and how they could bridge the gap between field- and satellite-based research.

Currently I am working with the Sabah Biodiversity Experiment, in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo, alongside Professor Andy Hector.
