Research Interests

I am a first year DPhil student in Interdisciplinary Bioscience. I specialise in molecular virology and more precisely in vaccines.

Manufacturers are under considerable pressure to produce vaccines in a more efficient way as well as to reduce associated costs and so my project is concerned with vaccine production optimisation. I am using RNA sequencing to look at genes and signalling pathways that become activated in host cells during viral infection and gene editing to modulate the host immune system to improve virus growth in the host.

This will hopefully translate to higher antigen yields in manufacture for various types of vaccines.
