My work centers around the field of antibiotic resistance. My previous work focused on mobile colistin resistance and the evolutionary mechanisms which allowed bacterial isolates to maintain costly resistance genes. I studied mutations within structural and regulatory regions of MCR and assessed their impacts on bacterial fitness and resistance. I am currently part of a collaborative JPI-AMR funded project that focus on controlling the spread of conjugative AMR plasmids using phage therapy and sequence specific antimicrobials.
