I am interested in how the animal microbiome can be impacted by pathogen infection and environmental conditions. I am using C. elegans as the host and study temperature (warming) stress could impact microbiota-host-pathogen interactions and host health. Under the context of global warming, my work will help entangle the complex interactions in host-microbiomes-pathogen system. By looking into the impact of warming on host-pathogen relationship, host microbiomes change and host health, my work will try to answer the question of whether or not (or under what conditions) microbiomes can be used to protect the host species or help with host recovery in a warming and stressed world.
