I am currently interested in combining chemical ecology, synthetic biology and metabolic modelling approaches to study the role of sterols in honeybee nutrition.
I would like to examine the impact of pollen nutritional profiles and/or pollen supplementation on the strength and disease susceptibility of managed colonies.
This has important implications for optimising crop pollination, and consequently food security.
