Dr Nuno Faria

Research Interests

I investigate the epidemiology and evolution of rapidly evolving viruses circulating in human, vector and animal populations. I am also interested in strengthening the scientific evidence base for public health surveillance to enhance the capacity of the research and health systems, and to prepare for current and future outbreaks of emerging and re-emerging arboviruses.

Other Information:
I am the UK Principal Investigator of the CADDE centre (Centre for Arbovirus Discovery, Diagnostics, Genomics and Epidemiology), an international MRC-FAPESP partnership grant with Institute Tropical Medicine at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. I have previously co-led the ZiBRA project in Brazil. I am a Wellcome Trust and Royal Society Sir Henry Dale Fellow and an Associate of the Oxford Martin School Programme on Pandemic Genomics. I am also a Research Fellow in the Sciences at Balliol College.
