Research Interests

I am currently working on my DPhil which looks at the biological defences of trees to insect attack.

Specifically, I study the resistance of Sitka Spruce to the large pine weevil. I am investigating and comparing resistance of Sitka spruce from a wide range of genetic backgrounds to Hylobius abietis (the large pine weevil) using a range of genetic and molecular approaches.

The results will then demonstrate if there is any potential to develop a weevil resistance breeding program in Sitka spruce. Prior to starting at Oxford I did my undergraduate in Natural Sciences and specialised in Plant Sciences in my third year.

Additional Affiliations

I am a member of the Biology Early Career Research Equality Diversity and Inclusion Action Group. I am co-supervised by Roger Moore of Forest Research and my industrial partner is Forestart.
