I am interested in the interaction between plants and bacterial pathogens at the molecular level.
My current research aims are to identify novel immune-related proteases produced by the model species Nicotiana benthamiana that enable resistance against the bacterial pathogen Pseudomonas syringae, and to determine the mechanisms by which this resistance is achieved.
I am interested in the implications this has for food security by potentially engineering resistant crops.
